Applying Biblical Principles to Facebook, Texting, iPods, etc.

Technology-based systems now dominate 21st century society. Smartphones, iPods, and social media are a major part of our lives. While these technology innovations are not bad in and of themselves and have useful purposes, they can have a negative influence on our lives if our use of them is not guided by biblical principles. We are to be in the world but not of the world: "And be not conformed to this world" (Romans 12:2). If we use things the world has deemed popular or cultural, then we need to guard ourselves against copying the way the world uses them. We should strive to view our entertainment and use of technology in light of Scriptural truths, particularly 1 Corinthians 10:31: "Whether therfore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God."

This booklet presents specific Scriptures to help guide Christians in their use of technology-based systems so that they can recognize how to better glorify the Lord and walk worthy of Him (Colossians 1:10).
